Year 5 Incursion
The Year Fives have been learning all about the Gold Rush and what Australia was like between 1800-1900. We were fortunate enough to have The History Box come out and show our students what life was like for people on the gold fields.
The students learnt about the roles of women, troopers (police officers), First nations people and asian settlers during this time. Some students were able to dress up as people from that era.
The grade 5s played games from that era as well as made a spice that the Chinese migrants had bought with them.
All the students had a fantastic time and learnt a lot about people from this period in history.
