Dance Club
The students participating in Dance Club once again submitted a video entry into Wakakirri 2024 which is a National Story – Dance Competition. The theme was ‘Belonging’ and our performance was based on the introduction of Auslan to our school that allows inclusion of all students. We congratulate all the students involved on their eagerness to learn and their commitment to attending lunchtime rehearsals.
Here is the feedback we received from the judges:

Ambassador Feedback
“This is a powerful story showcasing the journey of a deaf child navigating the world, highlighting feelings of isolation yet proving the value of belonging through the learning of ASL. Clever use of sound and silence allowed the audience to experience the child’s world. The choreography was thoughtfully executed, and the orange socks added a unique touch, ensuring the lead stood out. Great use of the school environment, and it’s clear that the rehearsals led to a well-prepared performance. A truly inspiring message about inclusion” – samuel mckeown, Wakakirri Ambassador.
