Question Time at St Anthony’s
As part of Inquiry in Term 1, students have been learning about government. We were fortunate enough to have been visited by Steve McGhie, Victorian Labor Member representative for Melton. The children have been working hard preparing for the visit, writing questions that they could ask Steve, concerning current state issues so we could run our own question time.
Some of these questions were:
- Where do you get the money for the hospital and train bridges and how will you minimise disruptions for the community such as noise and traffic?
- Why did it take so long to commit to building a hospital in Melton when there are so many hospitals in the city and hardly any out near Melton?
- How can the government help lower prices of everyday items such as food and making electricity cheaper for winter so people can keep warm?
- How are we going to keep Melton safe? Do we need more cops or licences for sharp weapons?
- Are we going to have more schools built and where will they find more teachers?
